Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the Streama websites, applications, APIs, players, and related services (the “Service”). It does not cover third-party sites or services we do not control. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.

2. Data we collect

Information you provide

• Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and Plan selection.
• Content & metadata: videos, live streams, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, captions, chapters, and chat messages you submit.
• Support & communications: messages, support tickets, and feedback you send us.
• Billing data: Plan, transaction records, and limited payment metadata. Full card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages and videos viewed, view counts, referring URLs, timestamps, and diagnostic logs.
• Streaming telemetry: stream session start/stop, bitrate and playback events, and approximate location derived from IP, used to operate and secure delivery.
• Cookies & similar technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use data

• provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
• authenticate you, deliver streams and videos, and enforce Plan limits;
• process payments, prevent fraud, and manage subscriptions;
• provide analytics to creators about their own Content;
• send transactional emails (verification, password resets, billing, service notices);
• respond to support requests and communicate with you;
• detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, security incidents, and policy violations; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires it, we rely on the following bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and prevent abuse), consent (for certain cookies or communications, which you may withdraw), and legal obligation (to comply with law).

5. How we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers / processors who act on our behalf — including cloud hosting and storage, content delivery, payment processing, and email delivery — under contracts that require appropriate safeguards.
• Other users and the public to the extent you publish Content, make videos public, broadcast live, allow embedding, or post chat messages. Public Content and your display name may be visible to anyone.
• Legal & safety: when required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Streama, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your Account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a limited period to comply with legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it. You can delete Content and your Account at any time from your dashboard settings; some records (for example, transaction logs) may be retained as required by law.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/RTMPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and signed, expiring URLs for stored media. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these directly in your dashboard, or by contacting privacy@streamastudios.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact privacy@streamastudios.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We use strictly necessary and functional cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details and choices.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
